The journey begins officially..
I am all set to leave Atlanta on thursday! People say I should be excited and high on spirits, but honestly, I am a little lost :)
I still remember the day when I walked out of HEW super happy after having gotten my first job. The job scene was pretty horrible back in 2004, and I was so glad that I got a great job in my favorite city in the US! Seriously, the feeling of getting a $$ job after 23 years of education, is more gratifying than any other feeling of success :)
And ofcourse, how can I forget my first day at MANH!! I wasnt sure if I made the right decision in terms of leaving HEW and moving to MANH. The first week at MANH made my transition so easy, that I never had second thoughts again!!
Looking back, everything seems to have been perfect. I enjoyed working at HEW and I am still in touch with some amazing people who worked with me. I had to move to MANH, so I transitioned my career away from the legacy technologies towards the more state-of-the-art technologies! In retrospect, it has been a great decision. I have enjoyed working with Supply Chains and other technologies. MANH has exposed me to programming as well as business. And the associations, I have made here will truly stay memorable.
And so it is - I am done with most of the packing and my rickety old car is waiting to gallop its way to VA. The lunches have been going on - I have never made it to PF Changs, Maggianos, Cheese Cake and some desi restraunts straight through the week. I already feel a little heavier...
I am also trying to turn the pages on the Accounting books. I got done with the Goal and scanned through some of the chapters from "10 Day MBA".
Darden has also given us some great notes to get to speed with Business Math, Accounting and Economics. I plan to screen through them in the next couple of weeks.
Amidst all this, I got myself a refurbished IPOd on ebay. The bid on Ebay started at 40$ and I got the Ipod for 53$. Good deal, I must say!! Some music for the ears, while at school, hopefully!!
Life is kind of like a circle at times! I remember coming to Penn state with 2 suitcases and not too many $$. I have been around one complete circle and its almost like I am starting again.
Two slightly bigger suitcases now...a nice 100K loan...and Darden, here I come..!!
